Max On Life: Answers and Inspiration for Today’s Questions
By Max Lucado
Pub by Thomas Nelson
A collection of responses, based on Biblical truths, to a collection of questions Lucado has received through the years. Each of the 172 questions, though addressed individually, is grouped into one of seven categories. Each category is self-descriptively titled, and comprises a separate chapter:
Hope – God, Grace and “Why am I here?”
Hurt – Conflicts, Calamaties, and “Why me?”
Help – Prayer, Scripture, and “Why church?”
Him/Her – Sex, Romance, and “Any chance of a second chance?”
Home – Diapers, Disagreements, and “Any hope for prodigals?”
Haves/Have-Nots – Work, Money, and “Where’s the lifeline?”
Hereafter – Cemeteries, Heaven, Hell, and “Who goes where?”
A topical index and a scripture index follow at the back of the book. Both are extremely helpful for using this book as a handy reference tool.
Though some questions seemed somewhat repetitive, Lucado’s responses differed enough to provide a slightly different angle within each answer. As I continued to read through the questions and responses, I began to realize what a helpful reference this book could be. I was happy to find the topical index at the back.
I would recommend this book to anyone whether struggling with their own questions or seeking to help another.
