The Teacher sought to find delightful sayings and write words of truth accurately. Ecclesiastes 12:10

Delightful Sayings

My verse for February is Ecclesiastes 12:10. As a writer, I just love this verse! It sums up a huge part of why I write. The original word translated here as teacher (or preacher) also means collector of sentences. How cool is that! In context, it is most likely referring to Solomon, and he sets the bar high. What a great visual – a sentence collector… striving for truth… crafting delightful sayings.

Write Accurately

The New Living Translation phrases this verse: The Teacher sought to find just the right words to express truths clearly. The importance of accuracy and clarity where God’s truths are involved cannot be overstated. It is a serious responsibility to accurately handle the word of truth (2 Timothy 2:15). But what a privilege! Because God’s Word is truth, it has power to change lives. What an honor to get to share God’s powerful, life changing Words of truth!
